Henry Wade papers, 1911-1992 (bulk 1962-1969).

Papers of a metallurgical engineer long associated with the Mines Experiment Station at the University of Minnesota, where he was involved in the development of the taconite pelletizing process. The papers relate to Wade's work on a variety of projects involving northern Minnesota's iron ranges, as a staff member at the station and later as a Hopkins based mining and mineral development consultant.

Henry Hopkins Wade was born on 13 June 1894 in Hopkins, Minnesota. He earned his engineer of mines degree from the University of Minnesota in 1915. Upon completing his degree, Wade became a metallurgist at the Mines Experiment Station (1915-1948). He became assistant director of the station in 1948 and director in 1951.
